Factory Accident Compensation Claims

Factory accidents can result in any number of injuries. And if you’ve been injured at work in a factory or mill, your injuries could have a long term impact on you and your family too. They could stop you from working for a time, result in the need for care and hinder your quality of life in severe cases. Whatever the severity of your injury, we may be able to help you to make a factory accident compensation claim. As experienced personal injury solicitors, we’ve got a great track record at dealing with factory accident claims and we could help you to secure the compensation you deserve.

£46,000 in compensation in one of our factory accident compensation claims

Our client was employed in a textiles mill. As part of his job he was required to stand on a platform that was about 5 feet high in order to operate some parts of the factory machinery. This was a standard part of his job in the factory.

Unfortunately, on the day of his accident, another employee had spilled oil on the platform. As a result, our client slipped, fell and injured his back.

After some negotiation, the employer accepted liability for the accident and offered our client £5,000 in compensation.

We advised our client to reject the offer and instead issue court proceedings against his employer.

As a result of this and following further negotiations, the employer eventually offered a settlement of £46,000, which our client accepted.

Factory Accident Compensation Claims

Many factory workers are involved in the manufacturing industry, an industry that is accountable for 1 in 5 workplace fatalities. Manual workers are amongst the most at risk of back injuries in the workplace and other accidents. Forklift trucks are responsible for a number of injuries that take place in factories each year.

Of course, working in factories comes with its own set of risks. But it’s the responsibility of your employer to minimise the risk to you through the implementation of robust Health and Safety measures. So if you have been injured in a factory accident at work as the result of a failing by your employer, you could be entitled to compensation.

Construction Site Accident Claims

Working in construction is amongst Britain’s most dangerous jobs. Over 2012-13, a huge 39 builders were killed at work, mostly as the result of falling from a height.

And every single day up and down the country, builders suffer injuries while on the construction site. These injuries vary in severity and the impact they have on a builder’s life and ability to work.

Those who work in construction rely on being physically fit. Injuries sustained at work can often mean builders are unable to work for extended periods of time, resulting in a loss of earnings and potentially some real financial difficulties.
